// about trees, by trees, under trees
The number of objects surrounding us, with which we interact daily, is overwhelming. It is estimated that during the day, a person interacts with about 100 different objects. There are so many of them that we stop paying attention to them because they have become natural extensions of our reality, and above all, our way of thinking. We no longer wonder where they come from, how they were designed, or what material they are made of.
// about trees...
In the "The State of the World’s Forests" report prepared by the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) in 2020, it was stated that between 1990-2020, the global forest area decreased by 11.2%, resulting in the loss of over 4.7 million square kilometers of forests. Significant consumption and the constant pursuit of development significantly accelerate this process.
// ...by trees...
The designed installation was integrated among the trees. The object, made of various wood-based materials and FSC-certified wood, was designed to raise awareness that wood is not just a board but also plywood, chipboard, and other wood-derived materials. It is essential to show the great diversity we surround ourselves with and the forms and structures we can have.
// ...under trees
The proposed object focuses on educational functions. At each seating area, a space for an informational campaign was designed in the form of a glass display case, where essential content promoting sustainable forestry can be placed. The installation not only focuses on the message but also creates a positive meeting space and a place of rest. Thanks to this, it has the potential to encourage and interest anyone passing by.
